Obviously, I would need to tag a long when my friend Mandy decided to move from San Diego to Chicago. After all, I love the USA and I need to see it every so often to remember that the USA is more than just a collection of bunk foreign policies and jerks. It is actually a breathtaking beauty full of great people. So we set off from San Diego. First stop, Blizzards in Barstow, can’t road trip through 100 degree heat without at least a Blizzard per state. First real stop, Lake Havasu City. We rambled into Lake Havasu, stopped at a local grocer and said “Where’s the beach?”. We picknicked and then hopped in the Lake for some swimming. Party Barges-A-Go-Go. But this crew was on a mission, hopped back in the car and camped in Kingman, Arizona. Here’s a lesson for ya, “DON’T SLEEP ANYWHERE NEAR THE MOJAVE”. Big Mistake, blazin’ hot then freezin’. Not a good look.

Here’s the trip math:

We stayed near Route 66 for most of the way.

The Adventure School is an event planning company.

The Adventure School can plan an event for you in faraway and enchanting locales. We arrange destination parties including weddings, staff retreats, honeymoons, and many other exploratory expeditions.

We invite you to check out this month’s destinations, Mongolia and Tanzania. Whether you want to get married in the Sahara or witness hunting with eagles in the steppe, it is time to get on the road less traveled with The Adventure School.

Mongolia

You will soon reach a personal goal if you come to Mongolia. For the extreme adventurer we will bring you to Mongolia, the least densely populated independent country in the world. For uninhabited wilderness, Mongolia is the spot. Aviva speaks Mongolian, a language that currently employs the Cyrillic alphabet and she will serve as the team leader on this expedition. The best time to go is in the North American spring, March and April. The Adventure School tour can focus on horse back riding, eagle hunting, humi singing, fairy tales and on the political change from communism to democracy. In this, one of the most hospitable countries with some of the most expressive people, you will enjoy the steppe and the taiga, wrestling, eagle hunting, herding and horseback riding. Vodka and Aireg, fermented mares milk, await you. We will brief you on local customs and culture so that you are equipped to be the most polite guests. A perfect trip for your family or for your best employees.

You will have the opportunity to stay in the nomadic dwelling of the Mongolian people, the Ger, known to many Americans as a yurt. You will be able to wear and/or purchase the traditional clothing of the people, the Del.

And since this trip will only appeal to the steely at heart, please consider leaving Mongolia by way of the Transiberian Railroad.

Tanzania And Zanzibar

We will plan the Destination Party or Wedding of your choice. What do you want? Tropical relaxation, large animals, rock climbing, luxury, roughing it, or the ultimate combination? We will provide. You can create a party and a vacation at the same time in the same place.

The beauty of The Adventure School Tanzania/Zanzibar trip is that it combines wildlife watching and relaxation. For several days we will watch for big mammals and African birds. And for several days we will relax in beautiful oases and ancient tropical paradises like Zanzibar Island. Tanzania is religiously and culturally diverse, united by Tanzanian pride and the national language, Swahili.

Tanzania has a huge number of solid gold destinations! In a country full of wildlife, history, beauty, physical challenge, tropical relaxation, culture, and current political relevance, The Adventure School will create an expedition or destination party perfect for your wedding, staff party, important birthday or mental stability.

Tanzania has prioritized wild-life preservation by establishing a strong network of national parks and reserves. You will have the opportunity to chose sites from many National Parks and nature reserves including the Serengeti, famous for having the largest concentration of wildlife in the world and huge animal migration.

Among the places you may see if you choose are the following:

Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcano with copious amounts of plants and animals, Tarangire National Park which is full of baobob trees, and elephants, Gombe National Park in the west is known as the site of Dr. Jane Goodall’s studies of chimpanzee behavior, Lake Victoria, Mount Kilimanjaro and many many more.

Get ready to look for Hippopotamus, Elephants, Hyenas, Zebras, Lions, Cape Buffalo, Giraffes, Wildebeest, Leopard, Cheetah, Warthogs, Impalas and much much more.

Zanzibar: We will visit Zanzibar Island full of beach resorts and rich plantations of “of Gold of Zanzibar” (Cloves), Sultans Palaces, Old Shirazi ruins, Persian baths and the infamous stone town reminding of the exotic past, See the Red Colubus monkeys that are found no where else in the world, go on a snorkeling safari, learn about the rich and tumultuous history of this land.

Tanzania is a lush area where you will be able to sample exotic locally grown and harvested fruits such as Mango, Grapefruit, bananas, papaya, pineapple, not to mention dairy, meat, veggies and indigenous beverages.

And while Tanzanians grow coffee, it is no longer a big part of the industry there, but don’t worry we can still serve coffee, bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast each day.

The Adventure School works exclusively with Tanzanian companies and people to assure that we are leaving a nation-building footprint through our tourism.
