Always wondered about the Henry Art Gallery, but never gone because finding parking in the U District induces a migraine? Well, this Friday is not only your chance to leave the car at home and save some gas, but also to check out the Henry for FREE. This Friday June 12th, the Henry is unfurling its new summer hours with an event called Bike Friday. Arrive on two wheels, hand your bike over to an attentive bike valet (seriously), and go admire some high-quality contemporary art unburdened by meter maid anxiety. The event will feature a bike flicks screening in the Henry Auditorium, dreamy live music by LAKE, and, yes, a cassette tape dance party with DJ Tape Deck from Hollow Earth Radio presiding. While you’re at it, hang onto those valet stubs. They’re good to enter you in a raffle with prizes from Recycled Cycles, Cascade Bicycle Club, and 20/20 Cycles. Bike geeks and art freaks, eat your heart out. 3 responses
