This is part one in what will be an epic journalistic series that will last until the end of time. It would be easier to just say, “How are parties and adventures similar?” “How are parties and adventures different?” But, here, we tackle the big questions, and by BIG, I definitely mean vague. SO, gentle reader, permit me to escort you into deep thoughts on the AdventureBlog. One way that parties and adventures are related is that they give you the agency to expect the unexpected. Anything could happen. . . Will I meet my future life partner at this party? Will I get thrown in a Turkish prison on this adventure? It’s all about the excitement of the unknown. Parties/adventures are practically the same in that people are oftentimes at the heart of the matter. Whether we choose to share these events with those close to us or we approach them like maverick vagabonds, it is often the people that you meet or the people that you love who will hit you upside the head with the absolute being-aliveness of the moment. Whether it’s a beautiful surprise party thrown by your best pal for you or a stranger welcoming you into their Ger for a piece of fat to gnaw on, it is our shared human experience at parties or inside of adventures that gets the blood flowing through us and has us wishing we could write thank-you notes to everyone we have ever met or get some Kanye mini-blind sunglasses and walk around with Mr. Bluebird on your shoulder rejoicing in the you-ness and me-ness of the entire universe. More to come on this and other topics. Get yer fill of advice, party ideas and adventure tips here on the AdventureBlog! Leave a Reply |
