Crawl Space Bazaar
On November 17, 2007 influential art collectors, curators, artists and art celebrities gathered together for a night of sequined and feathered debauchery including art, food, drinks and dancing to benefit Crawl Space Gallery. DJs Sam Rousso Soundsystem and DJ Glitterpants and played enthusiastic tunes as Monika MoSure applied psychedelic glam warrior face paint to all those interested. Attendees sipped on 15 years worth of exquisite wines from a private wine cellar and documented their looks in a photo booth constructed by Crawl Space Gallery Director, Anne Mathern. The girls of Shimmy Deluxe served ‘cockatiels’ and Hors d’Å“uvres to such Seattle notables as Jim Harris, Greg Lundgren, and John Behnke. This fundraiser was hosted by Seattle Art Museum Jon and Mary Shirley Curator of Modern and Contemporary art Michael Darling, internationally recognized video art pioneer Gary Hill, and The Crawl Space Booster Club Kids Jim and Molly O’Donnell, Betsey Brock, Eric Frederickson and Greg Kucera. The Adventure School helped raise over $10,000 for Crawl Space Gallery from internationally known arts philathropists Bill and Ruth True, John and Charlotte Behnke, Jon and Mary Shirley. |

30th Birthday Bash: Whales Vs. Shipwrecks
On November 9th, 2007 Forty friends gathered in a stunning condominium downtown to celebrate a tri-fecta of 30th Birthdays. A formal feast was had at a table the actual size of an Orca Whale to kick off the Whales vs. Shipwrecks themed soiree. Anti-scurvy shots were had by all to give everyone strength to compete in the post-feast Shipwrecks vs. Whales Tug-of-War. The Whale team fought mightily and prevailed only to go on with strong arguments in the Shipwrecks vs. Whales debate and sweet moves in the tie-breaking dance off. |

Maveron Halloween Party
On October 26th, 2007 members of the Maveron team, a leading venture capital firm with a portfolio including eBay, kinetix and TerraPass and their families gathered for a Halloween Bash. Community notables such as former Washington State Governor Gary Locke and Maveron Co-Founder Dan Levitan were in attendance. Everyone was entertained by a mime, a clown and a cupcake decorator while the children participated in story telling, pinata smashing and a rousing rendition of the mummy game. Hosted by Maveron. The event was held at Maveron corporate offices in the NBBJ designed 505 Union Station building in Seattle. |

Chavez 60th Birthday Celebration
On October 20th, 2007 the Anthony Chavez family of Sacramento gathered together friends and relatives in honor of their beloved wife and mother, Antoinette. To celebrate her 60th in style, the Chavez’ selected a quaint Sicilian restaurant, Soprattutto! Salumeria for an afternoon soiree. A good time was had by all as they dined on chicken and eggplant parmigiana, homemade fettucine alfredo noodles and much more. Speeches were made, songs were sung and everyone was delighted to be part of this celebration in the idyllic neighborhood of East Sacramento. |

Duke 50th Birthday Bash
On June 16th, 2007 family and friends of Mr. Duke gathered for a dance party to celebrate his fab 50th. After a thirst-quenching social hour, family, friends and associates were satiated by an On Safari Foods seafood feast. Everyone enjoyed the message in a bottle, red coral and nautical flag decor while dancing to the classic rock stylings of Free Rain as booze, food and cake flowed freely. A great view of summer sky, Gaswork’s Park, Lake Union and Downtown Seattle was enjoyed by all who attended this nautical bash overlooking Seattle’s yacht headquarters. Crawl Space Winner’s Circle
On November 4th, 2006 top members of the Seattle arts community including name-makers, collectors, gallerists, curators and artists gathered for a cocktail party to raise funds for Crawl Space, a nonprofit artist-run exhibition space dedicated to cultivating artwork by emerging artists. After a keynote speech by managing director Anne Mathern, cheerleaders, mimes, performance artists and DJ’s entertained guests while everyone enjoyed white food and drinks. Hosted by Betsey Brock & Eric Fredrickson and Bill & Ruth True, the event was held in the Crawl Space Gallery in the cutting edge Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle. Photography by Justin Gollmer. |
