Maureen Whiting is a dancer, choreographer and mathematician extraordinaire. Based in Seattle, she founded a dance company in 1997. Through it, she has researched, reflected, and pushed the ways in which the human body moves in response to it’s emotions, intertwining it with “interlocking structures and theoretical systems” that echo her respect for mathematics. She has a thirst for life and for truth and is so inspiring in all of her endeavors, from her art to her crazy collection of leg-wear to her role as a Mom. You can find her strolling the city streets with her boys, dancing it up at Bollywood events, or hunting for exotic spices at Indian markets. If you ever have the chance to see her company perform, DO IT. You will be so glad that you did. It will open your mind to something completely new and entirely amazing.

Hullo Adventurers,

Last night I went to see Swan Lake, at the Water Cube. Enough said. I have few words to describe the experience: Glitter, pogo sticks and tight tights. I am also depending heavily on my Adventurephone photos to tell the story.

The Moscow Ballet Company excellent – the synchronised swan diving even better. If you come to Beijing, Adventurers, I shall also bring you into the water park next door. They have a Turbo Basin that shoots you into a sea of floating (fake) jellyfish at breakneck speeds. It is beyond cool.

Until next time Adventurers, (from Shanghai)

I grew up dancing my whole life which is why I have a total appreciation for dancers. Being a visually stimulated person, I am inspired by whimsical photography and if they have dancers in them, even better!  Last week, I stumbled upon two extremely inspiring photographers, Cade Martin & Jordan Matter. These photos will blow your mind!

Jordan Matter: Michelle Fleet

Jordan Matter: Jeffry Smith

Jordan Matter: Michael Puzzo
