I started the beginning of last week in Arizona, where temperatures reached what felt like ALL TIME LOWS! It was COLD people! COLD! Then, I popped back up to Seattle, where I was faced with the inevitable low temps.  But was still, I was not truly prepared for my body being stiff and frozen. This brings us to today’s blog post. I have this LOVE for very awesome, very eclectic blankets. Maybe you need one to keep warm with or maybe you will discover one to add to this years wish list. Either way, I hope you find these inspiring! Enjoy!

This stuff is everywhere! Maybe I’m extra into it these days, because I found my DREAM white iron lattice headboard/wall partition, while browsing RED Modern Furniture in Phoenix! On a side note…There’s also a section in RED called MINT Vintage Clothing, which is operated by the wife of this husband and wife duo. It may be small but it is 100% AMAZING!

Now, I’ve created a small gathering of an assortment of all things mid century lattice pattern! If you’re interested in achieving that mid century look, you can actually purchase these blocks through A-1 Block.

This has Palm Springs & Trina Turk written ALL OVER IT!

Enjoy!

My love for these beautiful structures are beyond words! Around the holiday season, I came across a cute cat teepee by  Loyal Luxe. Cute, right? I would love to be putting my cat into this, while wearing  Opening Ceremony/Pendleton by shorts. This can all happen right before I attend a tipi wedding party! Too bad I didn’t make it to this one, featured on Intimate Weddings

Where to even begin…Right before I flew back up to Seattle, I went and saw Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. It was INCREDIBLE! The acting was so flawless that I still talk about it! I found some alternate posters done by two different designers. The pink poster was created by Sam Smith. The series of posters were designed by British design studio LaBoca and were inspired by ballet posters from the early 20th century as well as Czech & Polish posters of the 60′s & 70′s.  I love both variations & I thought I should share! Enjoy!

I grew up dancing my whole life which is why I have a total appreciation for dancers. Being a visually stimulated person, I am inspired by whimsical photography and if they have dancers in them, even better!  Last week, I stumbled upon two extremely inspiring photographers, Cade Martin & Jordan Matter. These photos will blow your mind!

When something somewhat scary and unknown comes along, just say yes. As a rule of thumb, life becomes increasingly more awesome whenever we do this.

One of my favorite hobbies is to gather cosmically generated tidbits of advice. These photos capture some more eloquent points I’ve gleaned in my travels.

At the Adventure School we are on a never-ending quest to become greener, cleaner, and generally more conscientious beings. We also like to give credit when credit’s due to the people who are doing cool things to help all of us become better inhabitants of the planet Earth. Buster McLeod (also the author of one of our favorite blogs, Enjoymentland) is one such person.

Buster’s contribution is ultra-modern and ultra-cool because it comes in the form of an iPhone application. His application, called Locavore, helps users figure out what produce is in season on a state-by-state basis. Buster got the idea to create Locavore from Barbara Kingsolver’s bestseller Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, an account of the year when Kingsolver and her hardcore family ate only locally produced food or food they’d grown themselves.

Buster’s app comes in handy if you ever find yourself in Pike Place Market looking at a colorful array of beautiful fruit, but have no idea which ones were grown in Walla Walla and which were schlepped all the way from Honduras. Locavore finds information about  the goods at farmers’ markets near you and general food availability data by collaborating with organizations committed to promoting local food like LocalHarvest.org and The Natural Resources Defense Council. Locavore has the ability to show you what’s coming into season and how much time you have left to buy currently seasonable produce. You can also search by fruit and figure out where you need to go to get a real, honest to goodness, in season pear.

Intrigued? Totally sold? Good news. Locavore is available at the iTunes App store for $2.99.
