Yesterday, we did some really good goal setting here in adventure land. I think this is crucial. Not all people operate best with concrete goals, but I definitely do. I was hoping that everyone on Team Adventure would ride the wave of goal setting and boy howdy, did they ever. We had to start the meeting with everyone in shades because the awesomeness of all of our future projects was emanating off of everyone so intensely, it was blinding. I tried to take a picture of myself but I couldn’t, TOO BRIGHT! Other than goal setting, we had another great week at The Adventure School, Misha made lasagna and cookies! Jordan brought in a fish that he caught. And everyone else was doing their thing with considerable amounts of grace AND swagger. A deadly combo, and by deadly, I mean awesome. We’re gearing up for a pretty bangin’ July followed by a year or century more of delicately crafted radness. We hope you can join us on all of our fun adventures. We will be all around the town and all around the world and fully buzzword compliant.

This week marks designer Greg Flores’ first week in the office and he is already hard at work on feats of visual bravery. Look out for exciting new offerings in Adventure Design and Products. Besides the usual picnics, parties, cotton candy and beach time, this summer is all about getting the word out about The Adventure School, I wanted to tell you in case you didn’t know, that we are actively seeking new clients of all kinds. Corporate appreciation fetes, weddings, branding, experiential marketing . . . we can do a lot of things . . . so tell everyone where to find us, like look for us in the internet and we are also in the International District, sometimes we are in airplanes or cars, trains, boats. Sometimes you might see us a Highland Games or skeet shooting. You and all your pals should come adventure with us and we will have a party any time.

See you soon! Maybe I will see you tonight at On the Boards? Friend of Adventure, Mike Pham, is performing all weekend at the NW New Works Festival. Not to be missed.

This week, good friend of The Adventure School and adventurous performance artist Mike Pham answers questions about life, the universe, and everything. He also gives us his two cents on the importance of cotton candy machines.

Speaking of important things, Mike’s performance group, The Helsinki Syndrome will be opening a re-imagined rendition of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance Of Being Earnest in “a performance that smashes the façade of A Very Famous Play.”

Catch the WORLD PREMIER  on Wednesday or Thursday at Crawl Space Gallery at 8pm or Friday at Rendezvous Jewelbox Theater at 8pm.

BAM! MIKE PHAM!

We were proud to plan the 2009 Henry Art Gallery benefit, See Listen Taste Feel! We worked with a group of the most amazing people at The Henry and elsewhere, including Jeppe Hein, the Berlin-based visionary behind the event, to transform a light industrial space in South Lake Union into party central. The party was as delicious as it was beautiful, featuring incredible food by Johnathan Sundstrom from Lark and glam desserts from Bakery Nouveau’s chef/owner William Leaman, Champion De Monde de la Boulangerie. Jeppe Hein created a vision complete with burning barrels in the parking lot to 30 secret ping-pong tables and a large site specific installation entitled 360º Illusion to enchant all who wandered in from Chihuly to SHAG members (Student / Henry Advisory Group). Entertainment was a beautiful chaos including composer Zeke Keeble and bassist Evan Florey-Barnes, Orkestar Zirconium
, Mark Siano and The Freedom Dancers, Merce Cunnigham Duo, bacon suits, and a fabulous troop of fashionable volunteer table tennis enthusiasts.
